Can you do whatever you put your mind to?

You might regret the things you didn’t do more than the things you did.
Believe in yourself. Dream, believe and take action. Don’t limit yourself. Be open to opportunities.
Don’t necessarily wait for opportunities to come to you but create them.
Use your God given talents and don’t let fear hold you back from the things you were created to do!

Hello, I’d like to personally welcome you to my website, StacyPursell.com.

One of the reasons that I created this site is that I want to inspire others to pursue and achieve great things in their professional life, but also in their personal life. To that end, I believe that you should never allow anyone to tell you what you can and cannot do. Don’t let other people put a limit on your dreams or put a cap on your potential. What you can accomplish is not defined by others. Instead, you are the one who determines your own destiny and the course you take to realize that destiny.

I have a passion for solving problems and for helping others achieve their goals. During my many years as an executive recruiter and search consultant, I have discovered that success starts in the mind. What you think has a direct impact on what you do, which means that what you think ultimately determines how successful you will in life. Thoughts proceed actions.

I have five rules for success that deal directly with mindset and how a person thinks.

#1—Be proactive, not reactive.

When you’re proactive, you make things happen. When you’re reactive, you allow things to happen to you and you put yourself at the mercy of a given situation and its circumstances. By being proactive, you’re more likely to move from a position of strength, as opposed to a position of weakness.

#2—Take chances and calculated risks.

When people get to the end of their life, they usually regret the things that they didn’t do, as opposed to the things they did. It’s nearly impossible to achieve great things in your life by playing it safe all the time. Inevitably, you’ll have to “put yourself out there” and do something that will make you uncomfortable.

#3—Don’t limit yourself.

This is another way of saying don’t be your own worst enemy. Make decisions that will allow you to grow. Don’t cling to the status quo, no matter how comfortable you are with it. Oftentimes, the only person who is truly putting limits on you . . . is you. Make a commitment to not allow that to happen, both personally and professionally.

#4—Don’t allow fear to hold you back.

A big way that you can limit yourself is by giving in to fear. It could be fear of change and uncertainty, fear of failure, or fear of rejection. These are all natural emotions, and everyone feels them at one time or another. How you react to these emotions is what makes the difference between meeting challenges and overcoming obstacles and succumbing to your circumstances.

Use your God-given talents and don’t let fear hold you back from the things you were created to do!

#5—Give first to others instead of waiting for them to give to you.

This is the Principle of Reciprocity. When other people give to you first, you feel compelled to give back to them. So when you give to other people first, they will feel compelled to give, as well. This is another way of “paying it forward” and another way to be proactive instead of reactive.
